Butch is the creative design leader for Croft. He has 30 years of diverse master planning and design experience in the retail, mixed-use, commercial, municipal government, multi-family, church, and hospitality sectors. This background gives Butch the depth and diversity of experience to serve clients and develop the younger design talent within the firm. Butch’s talent for front-end design and ability to integrate a creative mix of design ideas into a project brings tremendous value to Croft’s clients across our service sectors.
Butch’s design experience includes the mixed-use redevelopment of historic downtowns, more than 12 million square feet of retail space nationwide, and the construction and renovation of some of the largest church facilities in the Southeast. Prior to Croft, Butch was a leader in the Retail practice of one of America’s top 100 architectural firms and grew the Retail & Mixed-Use practice in a local firm from one to 30 employees in five years.
Butch earned his architectural Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Clemson University and has been practicing in Atlanta since the mid-1980s. He and his wife Vickie have been married for nearly 30 years, have four young-adult children, and attend NorthStar Church in Acworth.
