This project is a complex renovation and infrastructure project at the 78,000 SF, historic Humanities Building on the UWG campus quad. The project includes bringing the facility up to current accessibility and life safety codes and provides much needed program requirements related to classroom station sizes, pedagogical support and active learning. The building envelope, fenestration and advanced controls are renovated to significantly decrease building operating costs. The renovation also included improvements to the specialized music and art instructional studios, labs and practice rooms, as well as strategically located student collaborative spaces for optimized daylighting and views of the exterior.

The infrastructure portion of the project includes the construction of a new central energy plant and distribution loop for hot and chilled water to serve the adjacent Academic Quad buildings totaling 268,000 GSF with capacity to extend distribution to nearby buildings in the future. In addition, the building systems were upgraded in response to NASAD Art Accreditation concerns.
